Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes
Soft, fluffy, and filled with melty chocolate chips, these Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes are the kind of breakfast that feels like a little indulgence. Ripe banana brings natural sweetness and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture, while wholesome whole wheat flour keeps them hearty and satisfying. As they cook, the edges turn beautifully golden and crisp, while the chocolate chips melt into warm, gooey pockets of chocolate in every bite. Simple, cozy, and irresistibly delicious, these pancakes are made for slow mornings and second helpings.
According to Ayurveda, these pancakes have a predominantly sweet, nourishing, and grounding quality. Ripe banana and whole wheat flour can feel comforting and satisfying for Vata, while the richness and sweetness from the banana and chocolate make moderation especially helpful for Kapha. For Pitta, enjoying them warm rather than very hot and keeping the chocolate portion balanced can make them gentler.

Cooking Time- 20 minutes
Serving Size-1-2
Ingredients
1 ripe banana
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
A splash of milk, as needed
Generous handful of chocolate chips
Butter or oil, for cooking
Instructions
Mash the Banana: In a bowl, mash the ripe banana with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving a few small pieces for extra texture and natural sweetness.
Make the Batter:Add the egg and vanilla essence to the mashed banana and whisk until well combined. Add the whole wheat flour and mix gently.
Add the Milk: Add a small splash of milk and stir until you have a thick but pourable pancake batter. Add a little more milk if needed, but avoid making the batter too thin.
Fold in the Chocolate Chips: Add a generous amount of chocolate chips and gently fold them through the batter, making sure they're evenly distributed.
Cook the Pancakes: Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and lightly grease with butter or oil. Spoon the batter into the pan to form small pancakes.
Cook for approximately 2–3 minutes, or until the edges look set. Flip gently and cook for another 1–2 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Suggestions
The riper the banana, the sweeter and more flavorful your pancakes will be.
Use a medium-low heat so the banana and chocolate don't burn before the pancakes cook through.
Don't skimp on the chocolate chips — adding a few extra to the pan just before flipping gives you gorgeous pockets of melted chocolate.
These pancakes are best enjoyed fresh while the chocolate chips are still warm and melty.
